Temple Square a Popular Draw for Out-of-Town Visitors

The recently concluded 180th Semiannual General Conference brought 100,000 attendees to Salt Lake City to listen to President Thomas S. Monson and other Church leaders. In addition, many thousands more came as tourists to see what Utah’s capital has to offer.

Billed as having something for everyone, Salt Lake City was highlighted in a recent St. Petersburg Times story. The city serves as the world headquarters for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

According to Forbes magazine, Temple Square was the sixteenth most visited attraction in America last year.

The 35-acre area draws visitors from all over the world because of its renowned research libraries, cultural activities and historic buildings — most notably the Salt Lake Temple, at the center of Temple Square.
