Whether you are a seasoned genealogist or just beginning your family discovery journey, RootsTech 2025 offers something for everyone. Select content will be available in multiple languages.
For Latter-day Saints, RootsTech offers fun ways to help your family grow their love for Jesus Christ and the temple through inspiring messages from Church leaders. You can also learn helpful tips for using tools like Ordinance Ready found in the Member Tools and Family Tree apps to quickly and easily find ancestral names for the temple.
RootsTech provides an opportunity to connect with old friends, make new ones and expand your social network. RootsTech 2024 attendees made more than 350 million new family connections.

Keynote Speakers
Keynote speakers include author Ndaba Mandela (grandson of Nelson Mandela), prominent artist Dana Tanamachi, and Olympic and Paralympic Gold-medalists Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall, who will take the main stage to share their unique and inspiring personal, family and historical experiences.
Virtual keynotes include Latin American social media family Los Chicaneros, Filipina musician Ysabelle Cuevas, and Italian TV personality Marco Lui.
Family Discovery Day
Saturday, March 8, is Family Discovery Day, a free event at the Salt Palace Convention Center featuring live music and family history activities for all ages.

Elder-and-Sister-Andersen
Elder Neil L Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Kathy Andersen2025 by Intellectual Reserve, Inc. All rights reserved.Elder and Sister Andersen will speak at 1:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST). They will share personal messages focused on accessing the blessings of the temple and family history. Elder Andersen plans to take attendees on a personal virtual journey with him back to the dairy farm of his formative years.
The session includes a performance by Piano Guys on the main stage. The music performance and the Andersens’ address will be streamed live and available on-demand on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

RootsTech Family Discovery Day 2025 Activities
Family Discovery Day activities are free and will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 8, 2025, at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Activities will include games, art projects, and fun things just for children, such as balloon art and face painting!
Attendees will have a chance to participate in a variety of traditional activities from Korean, Native American and Latin American cultures. Additionally, young guests can experience some retro technology from the days of their ancestors and participate in DNA learning activities.
Family Discovery Day 2025 Classes
Family Discovery Day attendees can enjoy free RootsTech classes offered on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. In-person class seating will be limited. Renowned speakers such as T. C. Christensen, John and Kimberly Bytheway, and Scott and Angelle Anderson will be presenting. Topics covered in the classes include engaging teens in family discovery experiences, using your ancestors' stories to build emotional resilience, a Q and A panel on temple and family history callings, and Latter-day Saint genealogy, among others.
