SALT LAKE CITY — The Atlantic Monthly magazine released their list of the top 100 most influential figures in American history. Among those listed are Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, both past presidents of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Joseph Smith was the first president of the Church. The magazine added him to the list because he was “the founder of Mormonism, America’s most famous homegrown faith.”
Brigham Young served as the
second president of the Church. He is most remembered for moving
the members of Church west and settling the Salt Lake Valley, which
is what the magazine recognized him for.
