You’re always welcome to visit Temple Square. The Conference Center will be the primary guest venue during the Salt Lake Temple and Temple Square renovations for the millions of people who come each year. Admission is free at the Conference Center, and complimentary tours will be available in over 40 different languages.
Beginning January 1, 2020, several exhibits about Temple Square’s historic and religious significance will open in the Conference Center. The first exhibits to be installed will include:
Orientation Film
In the Conference Center Theater, a short film will introduce the historical significance of temples and provide background information on the renovations to the Salt Lake Temple and Temple Square. We recommend beginning your tour here.
Temple Model
In the balcony lobby, the popular cut-away model will be re-located showing the interior of the Salt Lake Temple. Kiosks near the temple model will explain what the purpose of temples and their significance to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You will also be able to view the exterior of the north side of the Salt Lake Temple, which is directly across the street from the Conference Center.
Statue of Jesus Christ
A new statue of Jesus Christ will be installed inside the Conference Center. Benches will be available for patrons to sit and view the statue, providing a unique opportunity to sit and reflect.
Auditorium Experience
This auditorium has no visible columns and is the largest of its kind in the world. It seats 21,000 people and features an organ with 7,708 pipes.
