Tabernacle Choir Heading to Brazil in 2026

Brazil will be the Choir’s sixth stop on its 'Songs of Hope' World Tour

In a press conference Thursday, February 20, 2025 in Lima, Peru, The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square announced that it will travel to Brazil in February 2026 as the next stop on its “Songs of Hope” World Tour and as a continuation of the Choir’s tour throughout South America as the Choir and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrate 100 years of the Church in South America.

As part of the tour, the Choir has performed in Mexico, the Philippines and the Southeastern United States. On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the Choir will perform at the National Stadium in Lima, Peru — which can be livestreamed on the Choir's English and Spanish YouTube channels — followed by performances in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in August 2025.

On December 25, 1925, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Elder Melvin J. Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the continent of South America for the preaching of the gospel. A few months later, Elder Ballard prophesied that the Church would grow gradually but that thousands of people throughout South America would join the Church.

Today there are more than four million members of the Church in South America, with multiple congregations in every country.

“Our South America concerts commemorate an important anniversary for all the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across the continent,” said Choir president Michael O. Leavitt. “The Choir’s messages of hope and peace are our gift to them.”

Information on venues, tickets and guest artists for the Brazil performances will be announced at a future date.
