Sister Amy Wright

Sister Amy Eileen Wright was sustained as First Counselor in the Primary General Presidency at the April 2022 general conference. Her service will begin on August 1, 2022. Until then, she will continue serving as Second Counselor, a position she has held since April 2021.

She was born on January 6, 1972, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married James M. Wright on June 24, 1994, and they have three children.

Sister Wright graduated with a bachelor of science degree in human development and family studies from the University of Utah in 1998.

She has served in many Church callings, including as a Cub Scout leader, Gospel Doctrine and Relief Society teacher, counselor in a ward Primary presidency, ward Primary president, and stake Primary president. She has been serving on the Young Women general advisory council since 2018.

Sister Wright has spent most of her time as a volunteer with the PTA and Spectrum Program. She also worked as a reading tutor at a Title 1 elementary school and as an office manager at Marquette University in the College of Communications, where she helped facilitate an urban journalism camp for inner city youth. Most recently, she assisted with marketing and advertising for Eagle Gate Dental.
