This is a list of important dates and information about the Provo City Center Temple.

Announcement
President Thomas S. Monson publicly announced the temple on October 1, 2011, during general conference.
Temple District
The Provo City Center Temple will serve 77,500 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 28 stakes.
Local Background
The Provo City Center Temple will be the 16th temple built in Utah, the fourth in Utah County and the second in Provo, following the Provo Utah Temple (1972). When dedicated the Provo City Center Temple will be the 150th operating temple worldwide. It will stand on the site of the former Provo Tabernacle, which was tragically lost to fire.
Temple Design
The Provo City Center Temple will recapture the historic beauty of the former Provo Tabernacle. Interior components that survived the fire — including wood moldings, newel posts and balustrades — were used as models for the production of rich woodwork and other design elements used throughout the temple. Salvaged materials such as art glass, finials and other hardware will also be on display. The temple comprises 85,084 square feet and is 150 feet high. It has a baptistry; several rooms for temple services and ordinances, such as the sealing of marriages and families; and offices for the temple presidency.
Public Open House
January 15, 2016, until March 5, 2016. Tours will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Mondays and 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. No tours will be given on Sundays.
Cultural Celebration
Church youth will celebrate the temple dedication with a cultural event with the theme of “To Give Unto Them Beauty for Ashes,” which will be held March 19, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at the Marriott Center in Provo. Music and dancing by more than 5,400 youth performers along with narration will precede addresses by Church leaders.
Dedication
The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will conduct three temple dedicatory sessions on March 20, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The sessions will be broadcast live to Church members who reside in Utah.
