Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple

Plans to construct the temple were announced October 1, 2005, Church leaders broke ground December 16, 2006, and Thomas S. Monson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dedicated the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple August 21, 2009. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in the western portion of the Salt Lake Valley.

The 60,000-square-foot temple’s exterior is Uinta gold granite from the Quanzhou/Xiamen area of China.

Currently, there are 30 temples in various stages of construction or have been announced throughout the world.
