The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the open house and dedication dates for the Red Cliffs Utah Temple.
President Henry B. Eyring, Second Counselor in the First Presidency, will dedicate the temple in two sessions on Sunday, March 24, 2024. The dedicatory sessions at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. MDT will be broadcast to all units in the Red Cliffs Utah Temple district.

A public open house will be Thursday, February 1, through Saturday, March 2, excluding Sundays. Before the public open house, a media day will be held on Monday, January 29. Invited guests will also tour the temple from Tuesday, January 30, through Wednesday, January 31.
Church President Russell M. Nelson announced the Red Cliffs Utah Temple in October 2018. Construction began in November 2020.
Once dedicated, this house of the Lord will join the St. George Utah Temple as the second temple in the city, located in southwestern Utah. First settlers arrived in 1855, when missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ established a mission in the nearby community of Santa Clara.
Utah, the Church’s world headquarters, is home to nearly 2.2 million Latter-day Saints, approximately two-thirds of the state’s population of 3.4 million people. The Utah temples in operation, under construction, or announced include the Bountiful, Brigham City, Cedar City, Deseret Peak, Draper, Ephraim, Heber Valley, Jordan River, Layton, Lindon, Logan, Manti, Monticello, Mount Timpanogos, Ogden, Oquirrh Mountain, Orem, Payson, Provo City Center, Provo, Red Cliffs, Salt Lake, Saratoga Springs, Smithfield, St. George, Syracuse, Taylorsville and Vernal.
Groundbreaking Announced for the Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple
The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced groundbreaking for the Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple to be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Elder Benjamin M.Z. Tai, Asia Area President, will preside and offer the dedicatory prayer.

The Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple was announced in October 2021. The temple will be built on a 1.26-acre site located near Dachang Road and Dehua Street, Niaosong District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 10,900 square feet.
The Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple will be the island's second sacred building. Its first house of the Lord, the Taipei Taiwan Temple, was dedicated in 1984. Today, there are more than 62,000 Latter-day Saints who attend around 100 congregations across the island.
Temples differ from the Church’s meetinghouses (chapels). All are welcome to attend Sunday worship services and other weekday activities at local meetinghouses. The primary purpose of temples is for faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ to participate in sacred ceremonies which unite families forever.
