Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints posted messages on social media on Easter Sunday, April 17, testifying of the Resurrection and Atonement of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
“Jesus Christ is risen! He loves you! And #BecauseofHim, you can experience the joy and miracle of forgiveness,” posted President Russell M. Nelson on Twitter. Facebook and Instagram posts also included his invitation to “prayerfully consider if there is someone whom you should forgive or someone from whom you should seek forgiveness.”
“The resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, gives me and all who believe in His name eternal hope despite the challenges we face in life,” posted President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
“Because of Him, I testify that in the midst of our storms, there is a bright light to show the way,” posted Relief Society General President Jean B. Bingham.
Primary General President Camille N. Johnson testified “of the joy that comes, even in challenging circumstances, as we make the Savior the focus of our lives.”
Other members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and General Officers also posted #Easter and #BecauseofHim messages on Easter Sunday.
In a video, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland shared several scriptures illustrating the joy and urgency with which witnesses to Christ’s resurrection shared the good news with others. “On this #Easter weekend, it is worth running to tell the world that Jesus Christ is risen,” he said.
“My heart grieves for the painful loneliness and wearisome fears you may be experiencing at this time,” said Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf. “However, because of the sacrifice of our beloved Redeemer, death has no sting, the grave has no victory, wrongs will be made right, and Satan has no lasting power.”

Elder David A. Bednar’s Easter post quoted the Savior’s words as recorded in John 11:25: “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
“I promise that following [Christ’s] light and example will bring us more joy, happiness, and peace in this life than anything else,” said Elder Quentin L. Cook.
In a video, Elder D. Todd Christofferson testified that “without the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, we would have no hope — but with it, we have all hope.”
Elder Ronald A. Rasband’s post described how he cried while watching the Mesa Easter Pageant portray the events of the Savior’s life and miracles. “What would it feel like for you if you saw the Savior? Would you act differently?”
In his Easter-day post, Elder Gerrit W. Gong testified that “Jesus Christ heals the brokenhearted; delivers the captives; sets at liberty them that are bruised.”
Always remember the Savior, not just on Easter, said Elder Ulisses Soares. “I promise the more you remember the Lord, the more power you will have to stay on the correct path and feel His love for you.”
Sister Sharon Eubank of the Relief Society General Presidency testifed in a post on Easter Sunday that “Jesus Christ truly lives. He is risen. And because of Him there are no dreams that cannot be revived.”
The post by Sister Amy A. Wright of the Primary General Presidency quoted 1 Corinthians 15:55: “O death, where is thy sting?”
In a post shared a few days before Easter, Sister Reyna I. Aburto of the Relief Social General Presidency testified that “through the redeeming Atonement and glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ, broken hearts can be healed, anguish can become peace, and distress can become hope. He can embrace us in His arms of mercy, comforting, empowering, and healing each of us.”
Sister Michelle D. Craig of the Young Women General Presidency expressed her gratitude for the Savior. “This Easter season, I am recommitting to put my gratitude into action, she posted. “I will remember Him.”
