Mexico: Cleaning Up from Hurricane Otis
Around 400 members of the Church gathered in Acapulco, Mexico, November 25–26, 2023, to assist in cleanup efforts following Hurricane Otis.
Volunteers cleaned the streets and sidewalks and removed debris, including mud, dirt, logs and stones, from the Ciudad Renacimiento neighborhood. Several army trucks and municipal garbage collection trucks were filled.

Peru: Computer Equipment, Furniture and Medical Equipment Donated
On November 28, 2023, the Church of Jesus Christ donated computer equipment to institutions of the Ministry of Health (MINSA).
The following day, more than 1,000 items donated by the Church of Jesus Christ were delivered to MINSA. The items included medical equipment and specialized furniture, which will be distributed to the 15 health institutions that need it most.
Canada: Church Donation Helps Feed Nova Scotians
Thanks to a C$350,000 donation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Feed Nova Scotia will be able to provide more than 500,000 meals to food-insecure homes in Nova Scotia.
“[It] brought us to tears for the impact that it will have on Nova Scotian communities and those who serve them,” said Nick Jennery, executive director of Feed Nova Scotia. “We know the impact that one meal can have — it takes away immediate anxiety; it can start a conversation and make a needed connection; it can provide hope. Multiply that times 525,000 — that is a huge gift to those most vulnerable in our community.”
Korea: People with Physical Disabilities Blessed with Blankets for Winter
Local Church members, along with support from the Church’s self-reliance program, provided bedding sets to people with physical disabilities in Namyangju, South Korea.
About 200 sets were donated to the Namyangju branch of the Gyeonggi-do Association for the Physically Disabled on November 9, 2023.
“I have often participated in volunteer work conducted by the Church, but this volunteer visit was even more meaningful because I felt it would be of practical help to those in need,” said Sister Kim Dan-i, who participated in the volunteer work.
Italy: Cleaning Up Flood Damage
About 60 members of the Church of Jesus Christ jumped into action as flooding in the Tuscany area caused serious damage to homes and infrastructure.

Turkey: Church Honored for Earthquake Relief Efforts
On October 3, 2023, Peter Huber and his wife, Carla, received an award for the assistance provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to victims of the earthquakes that devastated southeast Turkey in early February.
The Hubers, who helped coordinate relief efforts while serving as full-time missionaries in the Frankfurt area office at the time of the quakes, represented the Church at the awards ceremony in Ankara, Turkey.

Uganda: Lightning Arresters Installed in 30 Schools
Lightning arresters, which divert current from power lines during a lightning strike, were installed at 30 primary schools in Busedde Sub-County in the Jinja District of Uganda. The arresters were contracted and paid for by the Church’s Humanitarian Services department.
Following the installation, a celebration was held with community leaders and residents, including the Busoga Kingdom Prime Minister, who thanked the Church for its efforts.
Kenya: Church Members Visit Orphanage
Children at the Miale ya Tumaini (Rays of Hope) orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya, were visited by 23 members of the Church on November 18, 2023. While there, the members donated food and supplies and played games with the children.
“Visits such as yours bring hope and joy to the children because it helps them remember that people out there really care about them,” said George Wameru, an orphanage counselor.
Indonesia: Several Clean Water Projects Underway
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has initiated various projects, along with government agencies and local leadership groups, to provide clean water to residents in western Java and Lombok Island in Indonesia.

We are very happy and grateful to God.”
