SALT LAKE CITY — Zions Securities Corporation (ZSC), a commercial real estate management company associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday afternoon, 12 May 2006, at 3:00 p.m. in downtown Ogden, Utah, to initiate construction of a new mixed-use office building.
Ogden Mayor Matthew R. Godfrey and representatives of the Church’s Presiding Bishopric are expected to attend Friday’s ceremony.
The four-story, 75,000-square-foot building, which has been named Ensign Plaza South, will be located at 2225 Washington Boulevard near The Junction development.
Zions Securities Corporation, on behalf of Property Reserve, Inc. and in association with MHTN Architects, has developed Ensign Plaza South to incorporate historic elements of the surrounding downtown area.
"We have watched continued growth in downtown Ogden since 2000 when we built the Colonial Court Apartments in this area," said Gary D. Chaston, general manager of ZSC.
"New buildings such as the Twin Rivers complex, the DaVinci School, the intermodal transit hub and a new recreation center have all added to a strong renaissance in downtown Ogden," added Chaston.
Ensign Plaza South features underground parking, striking views, wide plazas and a main entrance fountain at the corner of Washington Boulevard and 2200 Street. Exterior stone will feature gold and red tones to complement existing buildings in downtown Ogden.
Construction will commence in early summer 2006 and conclude in fall 2007.
J.D. Clark & Company, an administrative, accounting and advisory firm serving the hedge fund industry since 1991, has already signed as the anchor tenant and will occupy the top two floors of the building.
