Maria Lucia Alckmin, the first lady of the state of São Paulo, was a guest of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil recently.
The first lady met with the Church’s Brazil Area Presidency to coordinate joint partnerships through the Church’s Helping Hands program and humanitarian services with the Social Solidarity Fund of the State of São Paulo (FUSSESP), chaired by Mrs. Alckmin.
“I want to thank you,” said Mrs. Alckmin. “It was a great learning experience to be here today. It will be a partnership for many years.”
During her visit, Elder Jairo Mazzagardi, a counselor in the area presidency, presented the first lady with a statue entitled “The Family.” She also received DVDs and CDs of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
