Elder Soares led the guests through the interior of the temple, explaining the ceremonies that take place in the various rooms of this sacred edifice, among them the sealing that joins families together for all eternity. Upon hearing of this teaching, Geraldo Alckmin remembered with emotion his own father, Geraldo Jose Rodrigues Alckmin. “My father’s eyes always shone when he spoke with our family about eternity,” he said.
As they walked through the gardens of the temple, the vice president recalled the visit he made during the public open house prior to the rededication of the São Paulo Brazil Temple in 2004. At that time, he was governor of the state of São Paulo. He even mentioned the address of the temple in the capitol city. However, in particular he highlighted the feeling of peace he came to know in that sacred building, the same feeling he experienced while visiting the Brasilia Temple, acknowledged the vice president.
