Elder Ryan K. Olsen

Church Service

Elder Ryan K. Olsen was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 2, 2022, at age 47. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Twelfth Quorum of the Seventy in the Utah Area.

Elder Olsen has served in several Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Argentina Resistencia Mission, stake missionary, stake mission president, high councilor, counselor in a bishopric, bishop, stake president, counselor in a ward Young Men presidency, president of the Uruguay Montevideo West Mission from 2016 to 2019 and Area Seventy.

Professional Life

Elder Olsen received a Bachelor of Arts in mass communication from the University of Utah in 1999. He worked as a business analyst for Best Consulting from 1999 to 2000. From 2000 to 2002, he owned a consulting company called Vision Source Consulting. He then worked as a sales consultant for Siebel Systems for about a year and then as a management consultant for Global Vision Group until 2004. He worked as area president of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. until his call as a mission president in 2016. At the time of his call as a General Authority, he was working as area senior vice president of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

Personal Life

Ryan Kirk Olsen was born in Provo, Utah, on October 11, 1974. He married Julie Darrington in 1998. They are the parents of four children.
