Prior to her call as first counselor in the Young Women general presidency, Sister McConkie was a member of the Young Women general board. From 2005–2008, she served with her husband when he was mission president of the California San Jose Mission. She has also served in ward Primary and Relief Society presidencies and as ward Young Women president. Sister McConkie rejoices in the beauty and nobility of virtuous young women who radiate the light of the gospel. She loves the scriptures and believes “the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever” (Isaiah 32:17).
