Samoan Islands
Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Katherine, accompanied by other Church leaders, met with American Samoan Lieutenant Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga and Samoan Prime Minister the Hon. Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi last weekend.
They discussed the growth of the Church in the Samoan Islands. They also spoke about some of the ways Latter-day Saints are helping their communities with such efforts as humanitarian aid and education.

The Christoffersons also met with the people of the Samoan Islands and expressed their love and gratitude for them.

El Salvador
Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Mary, were joined by other Church leaders to meet with the president of the Republic of El Salvador, Sanchez Ceren and the first lady, Margarita Sanchez, at the Presidential Palace last Friday.
In the meeting, Elder Cook mentioned the more than 120,000 Salvadorans who are members of the Church and the more than 600 Mormon missionaries serving in the country. Elder Cook said through their volunteer work they help benefit thousands of lives.
He also explained how the humanitarian program of the Church provides assistance to many countries around the world.
President Sanchez Ceren thanked Elder Cook for the Church’s humanitarian efforts and assistance in helping to strengthen Salvadoran families.
