Faith Keeps Texas Families Close in Spite of Fires

Austin, Texas, television station YNN interviewed members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently concerning their plight with the devastating and destructive fires. The reporter indicated that victims are pulling together because of their faith and the close bond with family.

Bastrop is 30 miles southeast of Austin, Texas

Members of the Church are some of the victims of the Bastrop Complex fire, located 30 miles southeast of Austin. Several members who lost everything were forced to evacuate their homes a week ago.

Regular church services were not held this weekend due to the difficult week people had. Instead, they shared a meal and reconnected with other Latter-day Saints in their meetinghouse which survived the fire.
