SALT LAKE CITY — The 176th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ended Sunday with concluding remarks from President Gordon B. Hinckley, the 95-year-old leader of the Church.
Earlier, Sunday morning, President Hinckley reflected on his 48 years as a General Authority in the Church. “I do so because the life of the president of the Church really belongs to the entire Church,” was the reason he gave for sharing several personal moments of his life. The president, who recently underwent surgery for colon cancer, added that his life summary was not an obituary, and he looked forwarded to speaking at the next conference in October.
